I've been upside-down so long ---it seems like right-side up to me!

I feel like a vampire, sleep all day in a very dark room blocking out all

The Night Shift (12 hour shift) just turns everything upside down in your life.

You can't get to sleep on your days off till the wee hours of the morning, because you force yourself to stay awake while you are working and it isn't all that easy to switch back and forth. And when you do switch to days then you suffer when you stay awake at nite

These days sleep is a luxury, unless of course you want to lose all contact with the outside world.

You sleep during the day. I had been letting the sun in during the day, but that has backfired on me. Now I only sleep when it is light out. This means even on my day off I can't fall asleep at night, really sucks..........

You have to block all outside light.

Going to buy some shades and see if I cut out the light while I am sleeping that I can have a life on my days off. We'll see........

This week I am going to try to block all light and see if I can get some quality sleep. Hate the thought of sleeping in a cave though, especially when we finally get some decent weather........

Have to make something work, this shift is screwing up my days off......

Trying to eat right while working the nite shift can be very erratic at best. I especially like to make something and just eat it, never have been a take your lunch person.

The Deli offers stale bread and you have to get there before the grill closes. Not to mention it costs a fortune just to have a quick sandwich............

I personally like to eat one half way into the shift to break up the day and have the energy to finish the nite.

The warmer weather is here so I have decided to do salads. It sure makes you feel better
