The original idea was that we would not be subservient to anyone!!! That 'women's work' was going to be shared across the board.... It was a day when we asked to be treated as an equal...... Everyone fended for themselves....
I didn't do dishes, fix dinner, serve coffee and/or pickup after anyone....
Well what I did was..... go to the hot tubs for a very relaxing day of soaking in the water...... My husband loved it.. He was able to use the computer and play card games or work on his stamp collection and fix a TV dinner... He appreciated what I was doing...... He was not threatened by my wanting some independance....
I went for a quick bite at lunch time (midnight my working time) and this young couple were having an argument next to me... very obviously an argument... She wanted a dog and he wasn't going to have a thing to do with it.. To get his point across he used the word 'fucking *' every other word as an intimidating posture and she tried to get her point across about having a small dog that could be let out and walked and he kept up with the fucking this and fucking that...... He destroyed a perfectly good dinner with his 'fucking' opinion, that she just kept quiet until he calmed down, somewhat..... they left, her with hurt feelings and he gloating that HE WON!!!! POINT HERE::::: he had his opinion and wouldn't listen to what she had to say
Is this the way it is now.... Women have no opinion....
I had my own altercation with an asshole... I work in Maintenance 'typically a mans job' and he decided that the 'core wasn't clean enough, so he went off on me, like it was my job to keep it clean.... I figure there are 4 shifts and it was everyone's responsibility to keep it clean not just me, why because I'm a female...... I don't think so....... FINAL RESULT: we both need our jobs so there is a truce........
